Cashmere Blankets Grade B

The heavier make among the cashmere blankets: coarser and more voluminously woven, especially in the multicoloured pieces. This weave needs more wool and more time — a single blanket takes 28 to 30 days of weaving.

Blended fabric with around 30% cashmere, plus sheep wool and viscose. Handwoven in our small workshop in Nepal, each piece individually on a hand loom.

More about the fibre – origin, characteristics, production and care: Cashmere wool.

  • ★★★★★
“I’m really impressed with this blanket. It’s surprisingly thin but incredibly warm and soft — perfect for cozy evenings without feeling too heavy. The quality feels excellent as well. Namaste Kids

What this shop is for

Namaste Kids supports more than 500 children from very poor families, most of them in remote mountain regions of the Himalaya. Over many years, until the end of their schooling, so that they can go to school and grow up healthy.

The weavers are paid before a scarf or blanket reaches us – and above the local rate. What remains after the purchase price and all selling costs helps us fund our work – above all education and health care for the children. The aim is to break the cycle of poverty and lack of education that would otherwise continue from one generation to the next, so that families become less dependent on donations.
