Cashmere Blankets Grade A

Pure cashmere from the undercoat of the Chyangra goat, 15.3 microns fine, from the high altitudes of Manang and Upper Mustang. Handwoven in our small workshop in Nepal, twelve-ply yarn on 12 gauge.

Two formats: the large blankets at about 216 to 220 cm wide — a single one takes 28 to 30 days of weaving — and a narrow version at about 120 to 130 cm for armchair, sofa and the foot of the bed, 17 to 20 days on the loom.

More about the fibre – origin, characteristics, production and care: Cashmere wool.

Namaste Kids

What this shop is for

Namaste Kids supports more than 500 children from very poor families, most of them in remote mountain regions of the Himalaya. Over many years, until the end of their schooling, so that they can go to school and grow up healthy.

Every purchase makes a twofold difference. With every item sold, the women who wove it are paid. What remains after deducting all selling costs contributes substantially to the work of Namaste Kids e. V. The aim is to break the cycle of poverty and lack of education that would otherwise continue from one generation to the next, so that families become less dependent on donations.
