Blankets

Handwoven blankets from Nepal. Each one is made individually on a hand loom in our small workshop — no two pieces are alike.

Cashmere blankets in three quality levels: A is pure cashmere from the undercoat of the Chyangra goat, 15.3 microns fine. B and C are blended fabrics with around 30% cashmere, plus sheep wool and viscose — B is the heavier make, coarser and more voluminously woven, C finer and lighter.

Yak wool blankets of pure yak wool: a strong, robust and durable fibre in the natural tones of the animal.

Choose from: Cashmere blankets · Quality A · Quality B · Quality C · Yak wool blankets

More about the fibre – origin, characteristics, production and care: Cashmere wool.

With every item sold, the women who wove it are paid. What remains after deducting all selling costs contributes substantially to the work of Namaste Kids e. V. — accompanying more than 500 children in the mountain regions of the Himalayas, over years until the end of their schooling.

Namaste Kids

What this shop is for

Namaste Kids supports more than 500 children from very poor families, most of them in remote mountain regions of the Himalaya. Over many years, until the end of their schooling, so that they can go to school and grow up healthy.

Every purchase makes a twofold difference. With every item sold, the women who wove it are paid. What remains after deducting all selling costs contributes substantially to the work of Namaste Kids e. V. The aim is to break the cycle of poverty and lack of education that would otherwise continue from one generation to the next, so that families become less dependent on donations.
